Here’s
the whole version

I have dedicated my life to helping people develop career, life, and financial success. Born and raised in Philadelphia by my two amazing parents, I always had a strong and competitive spirit. My dream was to be a strong woman on Wall Street, and that’s exactly what I did! I went on to attend the best HBCU: Howard University, and I landed four internships. I graduated magna cumlaude with a Bachelor’s degree in finance, and I started my full-time finance career on Wall Street.

What was life like on Wall Street?

For as long as I can remember, I have had an insane work ethic. I have always been goal oriented, and I knew I was put on this earth to break barriers. Gratefully, I was hired by one of the top Wall Street investment banks in the world. New York City was my new home. Can you believe it, little ol’ me was living her dreams while helping manage the assets of people who made $25 million and more? Can you imagine what I experienced? Can you imagine who I was around and what I learned? I was able to see, first hand, what wealthy people were doing with their money.

After about two years, for some reason, I wasn’t happy. Yes, I was making six figures. Yes, I was traveling the world. Yes, I shopped all the time and ate at fancy restaurants. I was living the life, but I was unhappy. I finally got tired of just trying to look good on paper while chasing money. I realized that it was a never ending race that I’d never win. Did I mention that I wasn’t the best employee? To be honest, I didn’t desire to be either.

I would often say to myself,

“what is wrong Ashley? You aren’t average, so why are acting like it?”

It was then that life changed.

I knew I deserved more, and I wanted to live life for a bigger purpose. I hit a ceiling, and I needed to grow. So, I stopped chasing money, and I bid farewell to my Wall Street career.

I gave up the 9-5 dream.

I gave up the job security, and I took that leap of faith. It was time to do what made me happy!

Sounds bold and exciting, right? Boy, was I in for a rude awakening. Rather than sit back and keep the 7 years of financial knowledge I had gained to myself, I decided to share it with the world. I wanted to empower people through education. I had this indescribable desire to expose my community to financial literacy. We use money every day, but it is not taught in our schools everyday. I saw a problem, and I felt as though I was the only person who had the burning desire to fix it.

I decided to use my financial certifications and become an independent financial advisor .I was ready, willing, and able to take over the world, but I was still irresponsible with my own money. In my head, I was this“topnotch” (or so I thought), Wall Street analystwho had worked for a large bank while making six figures. However, everything I had saved, I soon lost it all. Before my 25th birthday,I spent all my money. I had a bad credit score, negative bank accounts, and I even got evicted from my Harlem apartment. All those trips around the world, all the clothes and shoes, and the fancy restaurant dinners caught up to me.

In less than a year from leaving my job, I had no home, maxed credit cards, and overdrawn accounts. I went through phases of depression, and it hurt. It hurt bad.

That was one of the worse, however best times of my life. Sometimes, when you hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is forward, and that is exactly what I did. I fought my way through, and my financial advisory business was all that I had at the time. I continued to focus on my vision, and I persevered through it all. Fast forward 3 years (a rough, but rewarding 3 years), I have over 200 clients, and I developed my financial education institute: EMPIFY. I have taken my Wall Street experience, my life lessons, and I have turned it into an entrepreneurial empire. I have built a six figure business, and on track to making a million. I am truly happy, and I wake up every day to financially educate and inspire YOU! No matter your age, gender, race, or economic status, you deserve to obtain wealth. You deserve to live out your truest potential! So, whether you are a start-up entrepreneur, a single mother, or a college student I am here to serve you!
